KYIV — September 18, 2026. Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense published the General Staff’s latest estimate of Russian military losses.
According to the Ukrainian estimate, Russian forces lost approximately 1,420 personnel, 1,808 operational-tactical UAVs and 75 artillery systems during September 17.
The daily figures also included five tanks, seven armored fighting vehicles, three multiple-launch rocket systems, one air-defense system and 424 vehicles and fuel tanks.
Cumulative estimate
According to Ukraine’s General Staff, estimated Russian personnel losses from February 24, 2022 through September 18, 2026 reached approximately 1,514,910.
Important qualification
These figures are estimates published by the Ukrainian military. Battlefield casualty and equipment-loss figures during an active war cannot normally be independently verified in real time and may differ from Russian or independent estimates.
