Ukraine is calling for faster and more reliable deliveries of air-defense missiles after a large-scale Russian attack killed 25 people and injured 100, underscoring the growing pressure on the country’s missile-defense network.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the attack combined ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and Shahed-type drones. In Pryluky, a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile hit a residential building, killing 19 people, including five children.
Ukraine Says 44 Russian Missiles Were Intercepted
According to the Ukrainian president, air-defense forces shot down 44 cruise and ballistic missiles during the attack and suppressed 117 Shahed-type drones.
Why Missile Supply Has Become as Important as the Launchers
Modern air-defense batteries can be highly effective, but every interception consumes ammunition. Ukraine increasingly needs a continuous supply chain for interceptor missiles as Russia sustains combined missile-and-drone attacks.
What to Watch
The immediate question is whether new interceptor packages arrive quickly enough to replenish stocks and protect critical infrastructure as colder weather approaches.
